Terms of Service

Service

MeterLayer is an API gateway for AI provider requests. It routes supported requests to configured providers, records operational usage, estimates costs, enforces project controls, and displays analytics in the dashboard.

Accounts and Organizations

You are responsible for user accounts, organization membership, project API keys, provider credentials, and all activity that occurs through your organization. Project API keys must be kept server-side and must not be embedded in public client applications.

Provider Costs

MeterLayer subscription fees do not include AI provider usage charges. Customers remain responsible for costs charged by OpenAI or any other provider connected to the service.

Billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Plan limits apply to the effective subscription state. If a paid subscription is canceled, unpaid, incomplete, or otherwise inactive, the organization may be treated as Free until billing is restored.

Acceptable Use

You may not use the service to break provider terms, bypass rate limits, hide abusive traffic, process unlawful content, attack systems, or interfere with service reliability. We may suspend access for operational risk, abuse, security issues, or unpaid invoices.

Data and Prompts

The gateway is designed to avoid storing full prompt content by default. If prompt logging is enabled in code or deployment configuration, you are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with your internal policies and applicable law.

Availability

The MVP is provided without a formal SLA unless a separate agreement says otherwise. Operational checks, telemetry, retries, and budget controls are intended to reduce risk, but they do not guarantee uninterrupted provider availability.
